Sister Rose Marie Rau
Rose Marie Rau, O.S.U.
My life as an Ursuline Sister began February 27th, 1956. I have been an Ursuline Sister for sixty one years. As an Ursuline I have served in a variety of ministries. In the first years of religious life I served as a homemaker in a number of our convents. During the seventies I served on our Formation Team as Vocation and Postulant Director, working with young women who were preparing for religious life. I ministered as a hospital chaplain in Regina Saskatchewan, and worked in the Resource Centers in the Regina Archdiocese and London Diocese. I spent seventeen years at Holy Family Retreat House in administration, retreat ministry, and as a spiritual director. At various times throughout my religious life I have served in leadership positions in my community. I retired from active ministry two and a half years ago, and continue to be present to the needs of our community in various ways at Villa Angela as well as volunteering at the Chatham/Kent Hospice. I am deeply grateful to my God for having called me to give my life as a dedicated woman in the service of God’s people. My life has been blessed with so many precious memories - people who have revealed the face of God to me. I was blessed to be born into a loving , faith-filled family who have supported me throughout the years and the Ursuline Community who have provided so many opportunities for me to deepen my spiritual life and grow into God. This gift has been my personal call to be gift to others. |
